Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Byrd Yellow Jackets (Shreveport, LA) and the host Lakeshore (Mandeville, LA), observed Byrd's volleyball team top Lakeshore by a count of 2-0.

The Yellow Jackets (19-4) will now prepare for their battle against Huntington (Shreveport, LA). The Raiders go into the Division I District 1 battle with a 0-5 record. In their last battle, Huntington dropped by Parkway (Bossier City, LA), 3-0, in a league battle.

The now own a 8-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pearl River for a Division II District 6 battle on Monday, October 6. Lakeshore will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Cabrini (New Orleans, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 6-11.
