In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Calhoun Warriors volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Gillespie Miners.
The Warriors (15-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL). The Panthers go into the non-league test with a 4-20 record. In their last test, Decatur Eisenhower went down by Lincoln (Lincoln, IL), 2-0, in a league test.
The Miners now sport a 6-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greenfield/Northwestern for a non-league test on Saturday, October 4. Gillespie will face a Tigers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Pittsfield (Pittsfield, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 12-10.
