Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Central A & M Raiders (Moweaqua, IL) and the host Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), observed Central A & M's volleyball team top Gillespie by a tally of 2-0.

The Raiders (7-16) will now prepare for their contest against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL). The Rams come into the Central Illinois outing with a 15-6 record. In their last outing, Shelbyville beat Pawnee (Pawnee, IL), 2-0, in a non-league outing.

With the loss, Gillespie drops to 7-14 on the campaign. The Miners host Mt. Olive (Mt. Olive, IL) to play the Wildcats in a non-league outing on Tuesday, October 7. The Wildcats come into the outing with a record of 7-11. Mt. Olive lost 2-1 in their recent non-league outing against Litchfield (Litchfield, IL)
