Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Dighton Hornets (Dighton, KS) and the visiting Hugoton Eagles (Hugoton, KS), observed Dighton's volleyball team top Hugoton by a tally of 2-0.

The Hornets (15-9) will now prepare for their contest against Cheylin (Bird City, KS). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 17-6 record. In their last test, Cheylin was defeated by Rawlins County (Atwood, KS), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Eagles now own a 3-22 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cheylin for a non-league test on Saturday, October 4. Hugoton will face a Cougars squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Rawlins County (Atwood, KS). The Cougars record now stands at 17-6.
