Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Garden Plain Owls (Garden Plain, KS) and the visiting Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs (Hays, KS), observed Garden Plain's volleyball team hold off Thomas More Prep-Marian by a count of 2-1.

The Owls (18-5) will now prepare for their contest against Cheney (Cheney, KS). The Cardinals enter the Central Plains contest with a 19-7 record. In their last contest, Cheney got by Kingman (Kingman, KS), 2-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Monarchs encounter the Phillipsburg Panthers (Phillipsburg, KS) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 4. Thomas More Prep-Marian will attempt to improve on its 17-12 season record. The Panthers go into the battle with a 9-10 record after their 2-0 league loss to Thomas More Prep-Marian (Hays, KS).
