In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Onekama Portagers volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Reed City Coyotes.
The Portagers (15-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Leland (Leland, MI). The Comets come into the Northwest challenge with a 7-17 record. In their last test, Leland achieved victory over Frankfort (Frankfort, MI), 3-0, in a league test.
The Coyotes now own a 13-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Big Rapids for a Central State test on Tuesday, October 7. Reed City will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Tri County Area (Howard City, MI). The Cardinals record now stands at 7-16.
