Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Cherokee Warriors (Canton, GA) and the host Lassiter Trojans (Marietta, GA), witnessed Cherokee's softball squad hold off Lassiter by a final score of 8-4.

The Warriors (18-5) will now prepare for their bout against Wheeler (Marietta, GA). The Wildcats go into the 7A Region 5 bout with a 6-15 record. In their last bout, Wheeler was routed by Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw, GA), 12-0, in a league bout.

The Trojans now possess a 17-5 record. They play next when they host Roswell for a 6A Region 7 bout on Thursday, October 6. Lassiter will confront a Hornets squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Villa Rica (Villa Rica, GA). The Hornets record now stands at 8-14.
