The Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) football defeated the host Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA), 34-12 in Thursday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Colonels face the Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, October 12. Altavista will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 2-4 record after their 45-20 non-league loss to Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA).
