The East Surry Cardinals football team (Pilot Mountain, NC), was beaten 24-14 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC)

The Falcons (7-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, Surry Central was beaten by North Surry (Mount Airy, NC), 44-20, in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now have a 1-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Wilkes for a non-league bout on Thursday, October 12. East Surry will face a Vikings squad coming off a 38-14 non-league loss to Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-6.
