In Thursday's non-league contest, the Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, IA) volleyball squad nudged the visiting Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA), by a margin of 3-2.
Next up, the Tigers face the Carlisle Wildcats (Carlisle, IA) in a Raccoon River contest, on Tuesday, October 10. Gilbert will attempt to better on its 10-15 season record. The Wildcats go into the contest with a 20-7 record after their 3-0 league win over Carroll (Carroll, IA).
