The Highland Cougars softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Brookfield Bulldogs to 2 in the Cougars non-league win on Saturday.

The Cougars now possess a 19-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Putnam County for a non-league battle on Monday, October 7. Highland will confront a Midgets team coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Knox County (Edina, MO). The Midgets record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Brookfield moves to 13-6 on the season. The Bulldogs host Milan (Milan, MO) to confront the Wildcats in a Class 2 District 16 battle on Monday, October 7. The Wildcats come into the battle with a record of 12-10. Milan lost 10-9 in their recent non-league battle against Trenton (Trenton, MO)
