The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Marquette Mustangs (Chesterfield, MO) and the host Jefferson City Jays (Jefferson City, MO), observed Marquette's softball team prevail over Jefferson City by a tally of 15-2.

The Mustangs (11-13) will now prepare for their bout against Rock Bridge (Columbia, MO). The Bruins go into the non-league bout with a 20-6 record.

In their next game, the Jays clash with the Smith-Cotton Tigers (Sedalia, MO) in a non-league bout, on Monday, October 7. Jefferson City will attempt to advance on its 13-9 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 15-10 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to North Callaway (Kingdom City, MO).
