The Independence Mustangs volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the host Clear Lake Lions to 0 in the Mustangs league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now possess a 16-15 record. They play next when they travel to Solon for a non-league outing on Tuesday, October 8. Independence will play a Spartans team coming off a 2-0 league win over Gladbrook-Reinbeck (Reinbeck, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 19-10.

With the loss, Clear Lake drops to 8-13 on the campaign. The Lions host Crestwood (Cresco, IA) to play the Cadets in a non-league outing on Tuesday, October 8. The Cadets come into the outing with a record of 18-6. Crestwood lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against Charles City (Charles City, IA)
