In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Friona Chieftans volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Clovis Wildcats.

The Chieftans (25-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX). The Bobcats come into the 3A Region I District 1 challenge with a 1-17 record. In their last challenge, Dimmitt lost by River Road (Amarillo, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats meet the Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, October 10. Clovis will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record.
