In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Kennedy Thunderbirds volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Roosevelt Rough Riders.

The Thunderbirds (12-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Wasco (Wasco, CA). The Tigers come into the South Sequoia challenge with a 17-4 record. In their last challenge, Wasco notched a victory over McFarland (McFarland, CA), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Rough Riders battle the Sunnyside Wildcats (Fresno, CA) in a CMAC/NYL contest, on Tuesday, October 8. Roosevelt will attempt to move on its 19-4 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 6-16 record after their 3-0 league loss to Torres (Madera, CA).
