Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Miramonte Matadors (Orinda, CA) and the host Moreau Catholic Mariners (Hayward, CA), observed Miramonte's volleyball team hold off Moreau Catholic by a count of 2-1.

The Matadors (8-11) will now prepare for their contest against Berean Christian (Walnut Creek, CA). The Eagles enter the Diablo-Foothill contest with a 15-6 record. In their last contest, Berean Christian was tipped by Las Lomas (Walnut Creek, CA), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Mariners battle the Kennedy Titans (Fremont, CA) in a Mission Valley contest, on Tuesday, October 8. Moreau Catholic will attempt to move on its 6-15 season record.
