In Thursday's league match, the visiting Vega Longhorns football squad scored a good 28-6 victory over the Boys Ranch Roughriders.

In their next game, the Longhorns clash with the Gruver Greyhounds (Gruver, TX) in a 2A-2 Region I District 1 match, on Friday, October 14. Vega will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record. The Greyhounds enter the match with a 6-1 record after their 28-14 league win over Booker (Booker, TX).

The Roughriders (4-3) will now prepare for their match against Sunray (Sunray, TX). The Bobcats enter the 2A-2 Region I District 1 match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Sunray ran past Roscoe (Roscoe, TX), 47-14, in a non-league match.
