California High School Football - Pioneer prevails Independence

October 6, 2022: San Jose, CA 95118

The crowd at Thursday's league contest between the Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA) and the visiting Independence 76ers (San Jose, CA), observed Pioneer's football squad defeat Independence by a count of 34-12.

The Mustangs now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Piedmont Hills for a Santa Teresa - Foothill contest on Friday, October 14. Pioneer will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 14-6 league loss to Silver Creek (San Jose, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 1-5.

Coming up next, the 76ers encounter the Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA) in a Santa Teresa - Foothill contest, on Thursday, October 13. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Mustangs go into the contest with a 3-3 record after their 35-0 league loss to Branham (San Jose, CA).
