The Alexander Central Cougars football team (Taylorsville, NC), was beaten 48-26 in Thursday's league challenge with the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)
The Pioneers (3-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Hibriten achieved victory over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 56-14, in a non-league challenge.
The Cougars now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host South Caldwell for a challenge on Thursday, October 13. Alexander Central will meet a Spartans team coming off a 28-6 non-league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 3-2.
