The Alcorn Central Bears football team (Glen, MS), was beaten 31-16 in Friday's league challenge with the host Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS)

The Mustangs (4-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Booneville (Booneville, MS). The Blue Devils come into the 3A Region 1 challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Booneville achieved victory over Belmont (Belmont, MS), 48-12, in a league challenge.

The Bears now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Pontotoc for a non-league challenge on Friday, October 13. Alcorn Central will meet a Cougars team coming off a 52-3 league loss to Senatobia (Senatobia, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 2-5.
