Colorado High School Football - Rifle knocks off Basalt

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Rifle Bears (Rifle, CO) and the host Basalt Longhorns (Basalt, CO), observed Rifle's football squad thwart Basalt by a tally of 55-27.

The Bears now possess a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Aspen for a 2A Western Slope contest on Thursday, October 12. Rifle will play a Skiers squad coming off a 48-24 league win over Grand Valley (Parachute, CO). The Skiers record now stands at 3-3.

Coming up next, the Longhorns play the Moffat County Bulldogs (Craig, CO) in a 2A Western Slope contest, on Friday, October 13. Basalt will attempt to advance on its 5-1 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 4-2 record after their 49-3 league win over Coal Ridge (New Castle, CO).
