In Friday's league game, the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA) football team smashed the visiting Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA), by a final score of 42-6.

The Hornets (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA). The Vikings come into the 1A District 6 game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Opelousas Catholic overwhelmed Westminster Academy (Opelousas, LA), 41-6, in a league game.

The Trojans now hold a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Edmund for a 1A District 6 game on Friday, October 13. Sacred Heart will battle a Fighting Blue Jays team coming off a 48-0 league win over North Central (Lebeau, LA). The Fighting Blue Jays record now stands at 5-1.
