In Friday's league game, the Lyons Lions (LaGrange, IL) football team were victorious over the visiting Downers Grove North Trojans (Downers Grove, IL), by a score of 17-7.
The Lions (5-2) will now prepare for their game against York (Elmhurst, IL). The Dukes come into the West Suburban - Silver game with a 6-1 record. In their last game, York was knocked off by Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn, IL), 28-7, in a league game.
The Trojans now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hinsdale South for a non-league game on Friday, October 13. Downers Grove North will battle a Hornets team coming off a 52-0 league win over Proviso East (Maywood, IL). The Hornets record now stands at 3-4.
