The West Mesa Mustangs football team (Albuquerque, NM), was ripped 49-7 in Friday's league challenge with the host Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM)

The Scorpions (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM). The Matadors come into the 6A District 2/5 challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Sandia trounced Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 33-14, in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Cueva for a 6A District 2/5 challenge on Saturday, October 14. West Mesa will meet a Bears team coming off a 74-20 league win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Bears record now stands at 4-3.
