The Leon Cougars football team (Jewett, TX), was tipped 14-13 in Friday's league challenge with the host Groveton Indians (Groveton, TX)
The Indians (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Centerville (Centerville, TX). The Tigers come into the 2A-1 Region III District 12 challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, Centerville nipped West Hardin (Saratoga, TX), 54-0, in a league challenge.
The Cougars now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Corrigan-Camden for a 2A-1 Region III District 12 challenge on Friday, October 13. Leon will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 38-14 league win over Normangee (Normangee, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-4.
