Kansas High School Football - Pittsburg gets by Independence

October 6, 2023: Pittsburg, KS 66762

The Pittsburg Dragons football squad scored 20 points and restricted the visiting Independence Bulldogs to 13 in the Dragons non-league victory on Friday.

The Dragons now possess a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Smithville for a non-league battle on Friday, October 13. Pittsburg will play a Warriors squad coming off a 41-0 league win over Winnetonka (Kansas City, MO). The Warriors record now stands at 6-1.

Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the Labette County Grizzlies (Altamont, KS) in a non-league battle, on Friday, October 13. Independence will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Grizzlies enter the battle with a 1-5 record after their 49-14 league loss to Field Kindley (Coffeyville, KS).
