In Friday's non-league battle, the host Meridian Bobcats volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Cairo Pilots.

The Bobcats (7-11) will now prepare for their battle against Egyptian (Tamms, IL). The Pharaohs come into the non-league battle with a 5-9 record. In their last battle, Egyptian lost by Cobden (Cobden, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Pilots clash with the Farina South Central Cougars (Farina, IL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, October 7. Cairo will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Cougars enter the test with a 14-8 record after their 2-0 league win over Neoga (Neoga, IL).
