The Hawthorne Bears held off the visiting Harrison Blue Tide volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Friday's non-league test.
The Bears now have a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Glen Rock for a North Jersey - Colonial test on Tuesday, October 10. Hawthorne will confront a Panthers team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Bergenfield (Bergenfield, NJ). The Panthers record now stands at 10-3.
The Blue Tide (5-9) will now prepare for their test against St. Dominic Academy (Jersey City, NJ). The Blue Devils enter the non-league test with a 3-7 record. In their last test, St. Dominic Academy was nudged by Weehawken (Weehawken, NJ), 2-0, in a non-league test.
