The Maxwell Bears held off the visiting San Jon Coyotes volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Friday's non-league test.

The Bears now have a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wagon Mound for a 1A District 5 test on Wednesday, October 11. Maxwell will face a Trojans squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Des Moines (Des Moines, NM). The Trojans record now stands at 2-9.

With the loss, San Jon moves to 9-7 on the year. The Coyotes host Clovis Christian (Clovis, NM) to face the Eagles in a non-league contest on Saturday, October 14. The Eagles go into the contest with a record of 2-4.
