Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Railsplitters (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against MacArthur (Decatur, IL). The Generals enter the challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, MacArthur was beaten by Meridian (Macon, IL), 2-0, in a non-league test.
The Cardinals now own a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maroa-Forsyth for a test on Tuesday, October 7. Pleasant Plains will face a Trojans squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 1-0.
