The Lions now hold a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mt. Vernon for a non-league contest on Wednesday, October 8. Carterville will face a Rams team coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Highland (Highland, IL). The Rams record now stands at 6-8.

The Orphans (6-11) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL). The Rams enter the South Seven contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Mt. Vernon was overwhelmed by Highland (Highland, IL), 4-2, in a non-league contest.
