In Monday's non-league challenge, the host Pottsville Apaches volleyball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Bauxite Miners.

The Apaches (14-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Clarksville (Clarksville, AR). The Panthers enter the 4A 2 challenge with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Clarksville nudged Lamar (Lamar, AR), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Miners now own a 16-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pulaski Academy for a 4A 5 test on Tuesday, October 7. Bauxite will face a Bruins squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Baptist Prep (Little Rock, AR). The Bruins record now stands at 7-4.
