North Carolina High School Football - East Wilkes nips Alleghany

October 7, 2022: Ronda, NC 28670

In Friday's league match, the host East Wilkes Cardinals football squad scored a close 28-21 victory over the Alleghany Trojans.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) in a 1A West Conference 36 match, on Friday, October 14. East Wilkes will attempt to move on its 7-1 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 1-7 record after their 62-0 league loss to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).

The Trojans (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Elkin (Elkin, NC). The Buckin' Elks enter the 1A West Conference 36 match with a 1-6 record. In their last match, Elkin was nudged by Starmount (Boonville, NC), 53-0, in a league match.
