The Rio Vista Eagles football team (Rio Vista, TX), was beaten 35-20 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Axtell Longhorns (Axtell, TX)

The Longhorns (4-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Italy (Italy, TX). The Gladiators come into the 2A-1 Region II District 7 challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Italy achieved victory over Itasca (Itasca, TX), 15-14, in a league challenge.

The Eagles now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cross Roads for a 2A-1 Region II District 7 challenge on Friday, October 14. Rio Vista will meet a Bobcats team coming off a 54-16 league loss to Cayuga (Cayuga, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 3-2.
