In Friday's non-league game, the Crestwood Comets (Mountain Top, PA) football team knocked off the visiting Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA), by a final score of 35-14.

The Comets (6-1) will now prepare for their game against Hanover Area (Hanover Township, PA). The Hawkeyes come into the non-league game with a 1-6 record. In their last game, Hanover Area was dropped by Montrose (Montrose, PA), 14-6, in a non-league game.

The Cougars now hold a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wyoming Valley West for a Wyoming Valley 6A/5A game on Friday, October 14. Hazleton Area will battle a Spartans team coming off a 38-7 league loss to Williamsport (Williamsport, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 0-7.
