Texas High School Football - Merkel prevails Dublin

October 7, 2022: Merkel, TX 79536

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) and the visiting Dublin Lions (Dublin, TX), observed Merkel's football squad defeat Dublin by a count of 51-25.

The Badgers now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Eastland for a 3A-2 Region II District 5 contest on Friday, October 14. Merkel will encounter a Mavericks squad coming off a 53-6 league loss to Jacksboro (Jacksboro, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 0-6.

Coming up next, the Lions encounter the Millsap Bulldogs (Millsap, TX) in a 3A-2 Region II District 5 contest, on Friday, October 14. Dublin will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 3-3 record after their 45-28 league loss to Comanche (Comanche, TX).
