The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Whitwell Tigers (Whitwell, TN) and the visiting Grundy County Yellowjackets (Coalmont, TN), observed Whitwell's football squad defeat Grundy County by a count of 27-0.

The Tigers now own a 6-1 record. They play next when they travel to Lookout Valley for a 1A Region 3 contest on Friday, October 14. Whitwell will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 44-14 league win over Copper Basin (Copperhill, TN). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 4-3.

Coming up next, the Yellowjackets encounter the Clay County Bulldogs (Celina, TN) in a non-league contest, on Friday, October 14. Grundy County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 6-1 record after their 53-7 non-league win over Scott (Huntsville, TN).
