In Friday's league match, the host Mendenhall Tigers football squad scored a big 48-14 victory over the Newton County Cougars.

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) in a 4A Region 5 match, on Friday, October 14. Mendenhall will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 3-3 record after their 18-13 league loss to Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS).
