In Friday's league match, the host Mentor Cardinals football squad scored a close 33-27 victory over the Solon Comets.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Strongsville Mustangs (Strongsville, OH) in a Greater Cleveland match, on Friday, October 14. Mentor will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Mustangs enter the match with a 3-5 record after their 30-0 league win over Euclid (Euclid, OH).

The Comets (5-3) will now prepare for their match against Euclid (Euclid, OH). The Panthers enter the Greater Cleveland match with a 1-7 record. In their last match, Euclid was nudged by Strongsville (Strongsville, OH), 30-0, in a league match.
