In Friday's non-league game, the Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) football team smashed the host Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), by a score of 53-6.

The Hawks (7-0) will now prepare for their game against Monticello (Monticello, IL). The Sages come into the Illini Prairie game with a 4-2 record.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Stark County for a Lincoln Trail game on Friday, October 14. Mercer County will battle a Rebels team coming off a 34-13 league loss to Wethersfield/Annawan (Kewanee, IL). The Rebels record now stands at 4-3.
