The crowd at Friday's non-league test between the Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM) and the visiting Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), saw Hatch Valley's soccer squad get by Belen by a count of 1-0.
The Bears now hold a 6-5 record. They play next when they host Socorro for a A/3A District 3/4/5 test on Saturday, October 8. Hatch Valley will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 4-1 league loss to Ruidoso (Ruidoso, NM). The Warriors record now stands at 1-12.
With the loss, Belen drops to 5-10 on the season. The Eagles travel to St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to meet the Sartans in a 4A District 5 test on Tuesday, October 11. The Sartans come into the test with a record of 9-4. St. Pius X won 7-1 in their recent league test against Grants (Grants, NM)
