In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Charles City Comets volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Ames Little Cyclones.

The Comets now have a 24-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Janesville for a non-league test on Saturday, October 7. Charles City will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 3-0 league win over Clarksville (Clarksville, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 17-8.

The Little Cyclones (11-14) will now prepare for their test against Independence (Independence, IA). The Mustangs enter the non-league test with a 13-16 record. In their last test, Independence was knocked off by Solon (Solon, IA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
