In Saturday's non-league battle, the visiting Dowling Catholic Maroons volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the West Liberty Comets.

The Maroons (21-3) will now prepare for their battle against Linn-Mar (Marion, IA). The Lions come into the non-league battle with a 15-8 record. In their last battle, Linn-Mar lost by Waterloo West (Waterloo, IA), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Comets encounter the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, October 7. West Liberty will attempt to advance on its 24-10 season record. The Mustangs come into the battle with a 26-2 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Marion (Marion, IA).
