The crowd at Saturday's league bout between the Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA) and the visiting Liberty Lightning (North Liberty, IA), saw Hempstead's volleyball squad nip Liberty by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Hempstead upgrades its record to 14-8 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 27-5. Cedar Falls lost 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA)

The Lightning now own a 10-15 record.
