Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Clifton Central Comets (Clifton, IL) and the host Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL), saw Clifton Central's soccer squad knock off Hoopeston by a count of 3-1.

The Comets (9-11) will now prepare for their battle against Grant Park (Grant Park, IL). The Dragons enter the River Valley battle with a 10-8 record. In their last battle, Grant Park by Beecher (Beecher, IL), 5-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Cornjerkers battle the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils (Bismarck, IL) in a Vermilion Valley battle, on Tuesday, October 8. Hoopeston will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a 9-6 record after their 2-1 non-league win over St. Teresa (Decatur, IL).
