The Burke Cougars (Burke, SD) volleyball knocked off the visiting Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), 3-0 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 22-2 record. They play next when they travel to Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a B Region 5 bout on Tuesday, October 14. Burke will clash with a team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD). The record now stands at 2-17.

With the loss, Avon drops to 12-9 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Bridgewater/Emery (Emery, SD) to clash with the Huskies in a non-league bout on Thursday, October 9.
