In Friday's league game, the Ballard Bombers (Huxley, IA) football team tipped the visiting North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA), by a final score of 43-42.
The Bombers (3-4) will now prepare for their game against O'Dea (Seattle, WA). The Fighting Irish come into the non-league game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, O'Dea was tipped by Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, WA), 24-14, in a league game.
The Comets now hold a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they host Gilbert for a 3A District 2 game on Friday, October 15. North Polk will battle a Tigers team coming off a 34-10 league loss to Humboldt (Humboldt, IA). The Tigers record now stands at 0-7.
