In Friday's league game, the Shades Valley Mounties (Birmingham, AL) football team tipped the visiting Homewood Patriots (Homewood, AL), by a final score of 10-8.

The Mounties (2-5) will now prepare for their game against Chelsea (Chelsea, AL). The Hornets come into the 6A Region 5 game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Chelsea got by Huffman (Birmingham, AL), 41-34, in a league game.
