In Saturday's league battle, the host Basalt Longhorns soccer squad scored a close 3-2 win over the Gunnison Cowboys.
The Longhorns (5-5) will now prepare for their battle against Aspen (Aspen, CO). The Skiers go into the 3A/2A Western Slope battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Aspen was nudged by Jefferson (Edgewater, CO), 3-2, in a non-league battle.
The Cowboys (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Delta (Delta, CO). The Panthers go into the 3A/2A Western Slope battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, Delta nipped Moffat County (Craig, CO), 3-0, in a league battle.
