In Tuesday's non-league outing, the host Centralia Orphans soccer squad scored a tight 5-3 victory over the Massac County Patriots.

The Orphans (7-10) will now prepare for their outing against Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL). The Rams enter the South Seven battle with a 5-8 record. In their last battle, Mt. Vernon by Highland (Highland, IL), 10-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Patriots battle the Vienna/Goreville Eagles (Vienna, IL) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, October 10. Massac County will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 1-5 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL).
